Kelley Mack: A Radiant Talent Gone Too Soon

Actress and filmmaker Kelley Mack, best known for her role in The Walking Dead, passed away on August 2, 2025, at the age of 33. Her death followed a courageous year-long battle with a rare and aggressive central nervous system glioma, a diagnosis she shared publicly with grace and strength.

Though her life was tragically short, Kelley left behind a powerful legacy as a passionate storyteller, actress, producer, and advocate.

Rising Star with a Camera and a Dream 🎬

Born on July 10, 1992, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kelley discovered her passion for film at a young age, making short movies with a home camera. She went on to earn a degree in cinematography from Chapman University in 2014.

Kelley’s first short film, The Elephant Garden, won awards at both Tisch and the Tribeca Film Festival. She quickly built a reputation for creating emotionally resonant work—both in front of and behind the camera.

From Indie Films to The Walking Dead 🧟‍♀️

Kelley’s breakout came with her portrayal of Addy in Season 9 of The Walking Dead. Though on screen for a few episodes, her performance left a lasting impression on fans.

Her acting credits include:

  • Chicago Med (Penelope Jacobs)

  • 9-1-1

  • Broadcast Signal Intrusion (2021), where she starred as Alice

  • Delicate Arch (2024), a horror-comedy hit

  • Universal (2025), her final film, which she also executive produced

Beyond acting, Kelley worked in commercials, voiceover, and indie film production—earning over 35 acting credits and 5 producer credits in her career.

Bravery in the Face of Illness 🧡

In September 2024, Kelley began experiencing back pain and numbness in her legs. Tests revealed a diffuse midline glioma, a rare spinal cord tumor with no cure. Following surgery, she lost the ability to walk unassisted.

Despite physical setbacks, she remained fiercely optimistic. Through social media, she documented her progress in physical therapy and even posted videos walking stairs with help from her partner, actor Logan Lanier.

In a candid post in early 2025, Kelley shared:

“I know it’s a heavy diagnosis. But I still love my life. I’m surrounded by love, creativity, and purpose.”

Remembering Kelley 💐

Kelley passed peacefully at home in Cincinnati, surrounded by loved ones. Her family described her as a “bright light” whose spirit now appears to them as butterflies—a symbol of her transformation, resilience, and peace.

She is survived by her mother Kristen, her partner Logan, and siblings including fellow actor Parker Mack.

A memorial will be held in Ohio on August 16, followed by a celebration of life in Los Angeles.

A Lasting Legacy 🌈

Kelley Mack was more than an actress—she was a fearless creator, a joyful soul, and an advocate for hope in the darkest moments. Her story reminds us that it’s not the length of life that matters, but the light we share along the way.

Her voice, vision, and courage will never be forgotten.
